Overview

The Hawker 1000 was the largest member of the de Havilland/Hawker Siddeley/BAe-125/Hawker 800 series of corporate jets. The Hawker 1000 is optimised for long range intercontinental flights and was built using lightweight materials. It has two 5,200lb Pratt & Whitney Canada PW-305 turbofans with extra fuel in the extended forward wing fairing, and FADEC. The Hawker 1000 can take off in 5,950 ft at sea level, and in 8,075 ft at an altitude of 5,000 ft.

British Aerospace launched the BAe-125-1000 programme in October 1989. The first development aircraft flew on 16 June, 1990 and UK and US certification was granted in October 1991. The first production aircraft was delivered in December of that same year.

The BAe-125-1000 became the Hawker 1000 from mid 1993 when Raytheon purchased British Aerospace's Corporate Jets division. Production ceased in 1997 with the delivery of the 52nd aircraft.
