Press Release
Issued by London Southend Jet Centre.
June 24, 2022
The re-branded London Southend Jet Centre (LSJC), the sole FBO at London Southend Airport in the UK, hosted its first open day to the aviation community on the 16th June. The purpose of the open day was to enable brokers, airlines and tour operators to experience the facilities and meet the team.
There was also an opportunity to go on the ramp and see the based aircraft available at London Southend, as well as getting up close to some special visitors, including a Vulcan Bomber, Douglas C47 and an electric Pipistrel. The event attracted over 50 brokers, airlines and tour operators.
The London Southend Jet Centre is in close vicinity to the financial centre of London, Canary Wharf, which is only 36.4 miles away. It is open 24/7, with night slots available and offers a personal service that is unrivalled. The LSCJ has been experiencing a strong growth in movements and is growing the team to help deliver what is expected to be a very busy summer period.
As well as the first open day, it was also another first. It was London Southend Airport's first fully electric flight, which was performed by a 400kg electric Pipistrel. A stark contrast to the Vulcan!
