Gama Aviation starts first Bournemouth-based 96-month check
Since opening its hangar facility at Bournemouth International airport back in September Gama Aviation has carried out a steady stream of checks. It is now starting its first 96-month check, on a Challenger 604.
Gama Aviation is working on the major refurbishment of a Challenger 604 to meet the 2020 ADS-B Out mandate.

Gama Aviation has started work on a major refurbishment project for a Bombardier Challenger 604 that will see the aircraft become compliant with the fast approaching 2020 ADS-B Out mandate.

The full scope of works for the aircraft will include a 96-month check, full interior refurbishment, full exterior paint as well as compliance with ADS-B Out, CPDLC and FANS 1/A. The work, previously undertaken at Gama's Oxford facility, is taking place at its new 135,000 sq ft facility at Bournemouth International airport. The hangar was opened in September and has undertaken a steady stream of checks for Challenger 604s, King Air 200s and King Air 350s since receiving EASA approval.

Gama Aviation Europe ground managing director Scott McVicar comments: “We have a strong track record with the Challenger 604 and this project is another small milestone in our vision of developing a maintenance centre of excellence for jets and turboprops at Bournemouth International airport for our private, fleet and government clients.”
