DAC receives STC for TS-60 emergency power supply
This latest STC adds to the long list that DAC uses to provide its customers with the best products for their aircraft. This one covers multiple airframe types and over 2,000 aircraft could benefit from this upgrade.

AllClear Aerospace & Defense company DAC International has received a supplemental type certificate (STC) from the FAA for the Mid-Continent TS-60 emergency power supply, in partnership with Colorado-based aircraft engineering and certification firm Peregrine Avionics. This AML STC ST01086DE will cover over thirteen different business jet aircraft types including the Challenger 600 and the Hawker 800/900/1000 series aircraft.

“I am proud of the combined team's efforts to get the True Blue STC approved by the FAA,” says AllClear vice president and general manager Kevin Kuhn. “This adds to the long list of STCs that DAC uses to provide our customers with the best products for their aircraft. In addition, I'm excited that this STC covers multiple airframe types and over 2,000 aircraft could benefit from this upgrade.”

Tom Genovese, director of commercial transport and defence with True Blue Power, a division of Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics, adds: “Operators will benefit from the TS60's proven design that will reduce maintenance and servicing and improve dispatch reliability compared to the original Ni-Cad batteries that were used in these aircraft.”

“Working with our partners, we developed an approved model list STC to integrate and certify a safe, reliable and technically-advanced means of powering the emergency lighting system on these legacy jets," adds Peregrine president Dave Rankin. "We look forward to helping Part 25 aircraft operators as they upgrade to this solution.”

Engineered to offer distinct advantages over nickel-cadmium (NiCad) alternatives, the hermetically sealed, non-venting TS-60 is the first lithium-ion battery to meet new and rigorous Technical Standard Order (TSO) C179b requirements. The TS-60 is a direct replacement for Honeywell/Grimes legacy power supplies and offers easy installation and reduced maintenance costs.
