Albinati Aeronautics has become the first Swiss operator to be approved for multi-pilot operations (MPO) from both pilot seats for Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.
The advantages of multi-pilot operations on single-pilot certified aircraft include enhanced resilience and teamwork by both pilots; improved decision making by the full crew; and higher standards for operating procedural compliance.
By being approved to operate as a Multi-Pilot Aircraft, from both left-hand and right-hand seat, pilots can be trained according to their respective roles and grow within the company, and onto other aircraft, in a more secure way.
“The flight operations and training departments at Albinati Aeronautics have worked together to develop so-called Standard Operating Procedures allowing pilots to fly the Pilatus PC-12 safely from both the right-hand seat as well as from the left-hand seat as it was originally designed,” says Marc Monod, flight operations manager.
Albinati Aeronautics will now apply the same philosophy of its managed Pilatus PC-12 to its entire fleet.
The company has also recently welcomed a privately operated Dassault Falcon 7X to its fleet which, with a range of 5,950nm, can connect city pairs like Geneva-São Paulo, London-Los Angeles or Paris-Tokyo. It joins a list of ultra long-range aircraft in the Albinati fleet, including a Global 7500 and a Falcon 8X. A Bombardier Global 6000 is to follow in December. By the end of the year, Albinati Aeronautics’ global managed fleet will grow to a total of more than 25 aircraft.
