Gulfstream has delivered the 400th aircraft from its G650 family to a customer. The extended-range Gulfstream G650ER will be based in the US. “Business jet travellers the world over have long recognised the G650ER as the leading combination of speed and range in the business aviation sector,” says president Mark Burns. “Its achievements and accolades have only mounted since its introduction, including an incredible 100-plus city-pair speed records, the prestigious Robert J. Collier Trophy and the title for the farthest, fastest business jet flight in history. We could not be more pleased to deliver the 400th aircraft in the G650 and G650ER fleet.”
The G650 can fly up to 7,000 nm at Mach 0.85 and 6,000 nm when flying faster at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90. The G650ER, which entered service five years ago, can fly up to 7,500 nm at the same long-range cruise speed and 6,400 nm at Mach 0.90. Both aircraft are capable of a near-supersonic maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925 and have a maximum cruise altitude of 51,000 ft.
