Duncan reveals 2019's most popular STCs
Duncan Aviation has highlighted its most requested STCs for 2019 within which, unsurprisingly, ADS-B Out features twice. It also celebrates a Bombardier award for ASF excellence at its Nebraska facility.
Duncan Aviation VP of airframe maintenance Kasey Harwick, COO Jeff Lake and VP of service sales Mike Minchow accepted the award on behalf of Bombardier representatives Bill Molloy and Jean-Christophe Gallagher.

Duncan Aviation's engineering and certification services department has pulled together its top five supplemental type certificates (STCs) for the 2019 calendar year. With the FAA's Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast mandate deadline just weeks away it would be natural to expect to see that represented in the list, and in positions one and four are ADS-B for the Cessna Citation 560/560XL and for the Hawker 800/800XP. The other three, in order of popularity, are for Gogo Business Aviation's Avance L5 wi-fi system for the Challenger 600, Challenger 300/350 and for the Global.

“We are grateful for our more than 20-year partnership with Duncan Aviation,” says Gogo Business Aviation vice president of aftermarket sales David Salvador. “As one of Gogo's top MROs, Duncan Aviation continues to lead the industry in developing quality, full-equipment STCs for Gogo inflight entertainment and connectivity hardware platforms, as well as providing top-notch installations for our mutual customers.”

To date, Duncan Aviation has developed six STCs for the Gogo Avance L5 wi-fi system, and there are more currently in process. The more than 100 STCs the engineering and certification services teams have developed are housed in the company's STC library, and all are available immediately. Customers can search by aircraft, STC category or view the entire list.

“A good percentage of the requests for quotes we’ve been getting are for connectivity, and we expect demand to remain strong throughout 2020,” says regional avionics sales manager John Spellmeyer.

The company has also been recognised by Bombardier Aviation for its performance as a top authorised service facility. Judged on a set of criteria that included quality, compliance, customer satisfaction and customer influence, the Lincoln, Nebraska facility was named the winner of the North American category of the ninth Annual Bombardier Authorised Service Facility Excellence Awards.

Lincoln chief operating officer Jeff Lake said: “We have more than 200 team members dedicated to Bombardier products, with an average of 12 years of experience at Duncan Aviation. Our team members are the reason Duncan Aviation is successful. We are proud of the services they provide and appreciative of the great support we receive from Bombardier. We have a long and strong relationship with Bombardier and continue to work together to provide the best service possible for operators of Bombardier business aircraft. We are proud to be recognised by Bombardier for our commitment to providing their aircraft operators with superior quality and performance, and are thrilled that all of our full-service facilities have been recognised with this award over the years.”
