The ExecuJet Aviation Group is expanding its African managed and charter fleet with the addition of a Challenger 850, which will be based in Johannesburg. The aircraft is the first of its type to be managed by ExecuJet in Africa.
Sales manager Chay White comments: “We are very excited to offer the Challenger 850 to our customers in Africa. The addition of this aircraft follows a high level of interest in large cabin, mid-range aircraft in the region. We anticipate that it will be very popular, especially among business travellers wishing to reach their destinations faster with on-board office support.”
The jet has a range of 2,300 nm at speeds of up to Mach 0.80. The cabin can accommodate up to 13 passengers with a number of seating configuration options. ExecuJet currently has 31 aircraft in its African fleet, of which 27 are available for charter.
The operator is also adding a Supervan 900, an upgraded Cessna Caravan with 900SHP engine, to its African roster having exhibited this month at Mining Indaba, the world's largest mining investment event in Cape Town. Says director of aviation services Gavin Kiggen: “We are continually discussing how ExecuJet supports the mining interests and opportunities within the region. Private aviation underpins Africa's mining sector because aircraft are often the only means to reach isolated and remote locations. Our missions range from transporting mining personnel and cargo to oil pipeline inspections and security surveillance support.
“We expect the Supervan 900 to be in very high demand, not only for mining operations, but also for remote sightseeing and safari expeditions.”
