US MRO Clay Lacy Aviation recently completed its 10th installation of the Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite at its FAA Part 145 repair station at Van Nuys airport in California, where the company is an authorised Garmin dealer and has operated an Embraer authorised service centre since 2009.
“This milestone demonstrates the range of our continuously expanding capabilities in supporting Embraer owners and operators,” says avionics manager Eddy Diaz. “The G1000 NXi configuration is the result of Garmin continuously upgrading its systems with an even more user friendly and intuitive interface improving situational awareness and capabilities.”
The 10th installation took place on an Embraer Phenom 100, but Clay Lacy's Embraer-authorised facilities at Van Nuys and at McClellan-Palomar airport in Carlsbad/San Diego offer MRO and upgrade services for the full range of business jets including the Embraer Legacy, Praetor and Phenom lines. Clay Lacy offers Embraer operators services including airframe inspections, AOG support, parts sales, rotable service, avionics installation and repairs, and interior refurbishment and upgrades. It has a team of factory-trained Embraer experts including A&P technicians, IA-qualified inspectors and an onsite FAA-designated airworthiness representative.
“The G1000 NXi flight deck offers a host of leading-edge capabilities to help pilots fly safer and reach their destinations easier,” adds Garmin senior director aviation sales and marketing Dan Lind. “From enhanced guidance in visual flight conditions to SurfaceWatch runway monitoring technology, the G1000 NXi is a comprehensive upgrade for any operator. We're proud to work with MROs like Clay Lacy to bring the industry's most trusted avionics to pilots and aircraft owners who will undoubtedly benefit from the faster and more modernised feature set found in the G1000 NXi system.”
Clay Lacy serves as an authorised Garmin dealer, with manufacturer-trained technicians and direct access to Garmin field service representatives. Garmin recently delivered its 25,000th integrated flight deck since launching the G1000 avionics suite in 2003. Clay Lacy also offers the G1000 NXi upgrade to Beechcraft King Air operators.
