Newly certified Global 6500 enters service
Transport Canada certification heralds the service entry of Bombardier's Global 6500. The long range jet has a newly optimised wing and all-new Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines.
Blmbardier says the Global 6500 has exceeded customer expectations.

Bombardier is celebrating the entry into service of the latest addition to its Global family, the Global 6500 jet. This achievement comes on the heels of Transport Canada certification of both the Global 5500 and Global 6500. The aircraft will make its public debut at the National Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas on 22 October.

“We are celebrating a significant milestone today with the entry into service of this exceptional aircraft,” says Bombardier Aviation president David Coleal. “We're proud of the work our team and our suppliers have done to deliver a technologically advanced aircraft that exceeds our customers' expectations in terms of unparalleled comfort, superior performance and an incomparable smooth ride. The Global 6500 business jet continues to maintain the longstanding winning DNA of our Global family of aircraft, the most successful long-range business jet platform.”

The aircraft went through the rigorous flight testing programme, which was completed at Bombardier's world-class test centre in Wichita, Kansas. The Pearl 15 engine, the latest addition to Rolls-Royce's business aviation engine portfolio, received EASA certification in 2018 and Transport Canada certification recently. It was developed at the Rolls-Royce Centre of Excellence for Business Aviation engines in Dahlewitz, Germany, and was custom-designed with the most innovative technology that includes enhanced aerodynamics, blade cooling and advanced engine health monitoring systems, to power the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft.

With purpose-built engines, advanced wing design and built-in systems redundancy and robustness, the aircraft offers superior safety and a smooth ride to its passengers. The new Rolls-Royce Pearl engines also make the Global 6500 aircraft a cleaner and more efficient business jet.
