Airkenya has extended its helicopter fleet with the addition of a second Airbus AS350 B3E to meet growing demand for scenic flights and safari experiences. Popular requests include Mount Kenya scenic flights with breakfast or trout fishing, flamingo sighting on Lake Magadi or further north at Lake Bogoria, the Gura and Karuru waterfalls on the Aberdares Range, or flying up to Lake Turkana. The helicopters fly with two doors open, offering spectacular viewing for guests or photographers.
Airkenya also offers transfer helicopter flights from Jomo Kenyatta International airport to Westlands, Runda and Karen, three wealthy suburbs of Nairobi. These flights are operated for up to five passengers with 15kg luggage per person. The company has a fixed wing fleet too, with the only Dash 7 50-seater aircraft in Kenya, a Dash 8, three Twin Otters and three Grand Caravans with 11 seats each. It is based at an exclusive passenger terminal and hangar at Wilson airport.
