The Exchange Income Corporation (EIC) of Canada has invested in two King Air flight simulators courtesy of TRU Simulation + Training. The deal includes a full-flight simulator (FFS) and a flight training device (FTD). The Level D-qualified FFS will be equipped with Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and designed to be reconfigurable between the various Beechcraft King Air 200 and 300 series aircraft. The FTD will be based on the Beechcraft King Air 360 turboprop with Collins Aerospace's Pro Line Fusion avionics and qualified to Level 5.

TRU Simulation + Training, an affiliate of Textron Aviation, is a Textron company that designs and delivers high-fidelity training devices and support for civil and defence customers.

The new simulators will support training for EIC's subsidiary companies, including Carson Air, Keewatin Air and PAL Aerospace, which operate Beechcraft King Air turboprops throughout Canada. TRU will also assist EIC with its TrainOnSite services to help the organisation establish in-house training capabilities.

“TRU is honoured to provide EIC with flight training devices to support its fleet operations,” says Jerry Messaris, vice president and general manager, TRU Simulation + Training. “The varying configurations in the simulators will enable EIC to fulfil its wide range of Beechcraft King Air pilot training needs.”

TRU's TrainOnSite programme supports customers throughout the process of purchasing, installing and using in-house simulators for flight training. TRU guides customers through every step of the process, including financial planning, facility requirements, training centre operations, simulator operations and ongoing support.

The King Air FFS and FTD both incorporate TRU's REALFeel control loading system, producing a highly realistic flight experience. The FFS has a full-flight motion base that integrates TRU's REALCue system, featuring electric motion with 60-inch-stroke actuators. To create an immersive training environment, the FFS is equipped with a visual system including high-definition projectors on a 200x40 degree display while the FTD has flat-panel televisions to enhance the training experience.
