GreenlandAir Greenland has selected Ostnes Helicopters, the Airbus Helicopters sales distributor and service centre for the Nordic region, to customise a number of Airbus H125 helicopters. The work involves installing equipment, painting the aircraft in Air Greenland’s paint scheme at the Østnes facilities and ensuring that the aircraft are operationally ready. The aircraft will be prepared at the service centre at Eggemoen in Norway by the Østnes Part 145, support/logistics and CAMO team.
Air Greenland announced the purchase of nine new H125 helicopters in July 2022, indicating a significant investment in the renewal of its helicopter fleet. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery beginning late summer 2023 and continuing into 2024, with the goal of progressively modernising the company’s present helicopter fleet of Airbus AS350s while remaining appealing for charter work in the tourist and minerals sectors.
Overall, the H125 helicopter investment represents a big step forward for Air Greenland and the company says it demonstrates its dedication to providing the best possible service to its customers. With this modern fleet, Air Greenland believes it is well positioned to meet environmental goals while providing a safe, reliable and comfortable experience.
“We are proud to be part of this fleet renewal and are thankful for the trust given to us by Air Greenland,” says a spokesperson for Østnes. “We are well prepared and will do our utmost to meet its expectations.”
