Houston Police turns to MDH for heli maintenance
Houston Police Dept has signed a five year contract with MD Helicopters for the upkeep of its eight MD 500Es. The contract will run until 2027, and will support the unit as it conducts operations across the city.
Houston Police Dept MD 500Es will benefit from MDH maintenance contracts.

Houston Police Department has entered an exclusive five year maintenance agreement with MD Helicopters for drive train component maintenance for the its eight MD 500E helicopters.

MD Helicopters has a long and sustained history of delivering the proven capabilities and technically advanced helicopters modern law enforcement requires to protect its citizens while ensuring safety for its officers,” says vice president of aftermarket and customer support Nick Nenadovic. “This long-term agreement emphasises trust in MDHI to deliver superior service and expertise to keep the Houston Police Department Air Support Unit flying its critical missions.”

Houston PD's air support unit provides a variety of law enforcement, public support and safety operations in its aircraft. These include patrol flights, support for high-speed pursuits, call-for-service response, perimeter control support, homeland security site checks, security flights for the ship channel and Port of Houston, live video-downlink for major fire scenes, covert aerial surveillance, dignitary protection, photo evidence gathering, post-storm damage assessment and SWAT officer insertion and extraction.
