AgustaWestland's AW189 super medium twin helicopter has obtained Russian civil certification, allowing it to be delivered to customers in Russia. The aircraft is already in service in the UK, Denmark, UAE, Qatar and Malaysia. Civil certification of the AW189 in Russia follows the recent order for ten units made by RN-Aircraft, a subsidiary of the oil company Rosneft, to perform transportation missions. Deliveries will commence at the end of 2015 and continue through 2017. Rosneft plans to order up to 160 units by 2025.

With more than 150 helicopters already sold to customers worldwide, including orders, framework contracts and options, the AW189 is one of the most selected commercial helicopters in its category.
