Bombardier selects the AutoPower system for Challenger 3500
The AutoPower automatic throttle system has been chosen for standard fitting in the Challenger 3500. The system extends the capability of the flight guidance and automatic flight control system for the aircraft.

Safe Flight Instrument's AutoPower automatic throttle system will be fitted as standard on the Bombardier Challenger 3500 aircraft.

Bombardier and Safe Flight have collaborated previously on certified programmes including the Challenger 650 aircraft. Initial production deliveries and entry into service are expected by the second half of 2022.

“We are delighted by Bombardier's decision to make the AutoPower ATS standard on the Challenger 3500 flight deck,” states Ken Bannon, Safe Flight's director, commercial and corporate aviation.

“We are thrilled with the enhanced cockpit experience Safe Flight's system brings to our newly launched Challenger 3500 aircraft,” says Peter Likoray, senior vice president, sales, Bombardier. “In addition to the enhanced cockpit, customers can expect all the best selling elements of the Challenger platform; impressive performance, consistent reliability and exceptional smooth ride, all while elevating the cabin experience to a new standard in the category.”

The AutoPower automatic throttle system (ATS) on the Challenger 3500 aircraft extends the capability of the flight guidance and automatic flight control systems, providing accurate, responsive and dependable speed and thrust management from takeoff to touchdown. The AutoPower ATS achieves this through seamless integration with the PFD/MFD's envelope protection, and its ability to use planned VNAV/speed profiles from the FMS and continued system availability in single engine operation or other emergency situations.
