Following cooperation with Viking Air, MT-Propeller is working towards an STC from Transport Canada for the installation of the four-blade MTV-16 prop on the Viking DHC-2T Mk3 Turbo Beaver powered by the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 or -34 engine.
According to MT, the advantages of the propeller installation on the Turbo Beaver are: best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation; bonded on nickel alloy leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades; improved take off performance; improved ground clearance for less FOD; reduced outside and inside noise; unlimited blade life, especially for water and sea plane operation; and a favourable weight to price ratio.
The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.
