Caverton achieves EASA approval for AW139 simulator training
Caverton Helicopters installed the Thales Reality H simulator for the AW139 at its Lagos facility back in April 2021, and now it has been granted EASA approval as a full flight simulator operator.
The Thales AW139 flight simulator offers pilots an immersive experience with reproductions of operational missions, to train in complete safety for a variety situations including adverse weather conditions, helicopter failures and emergencies.

Nigerian operator Caverton Helicopters has been qualified by EASA as a full flight simulator operator, using the Thales Level D, Reality H simulator for the AW139 helicopter. The system was installed at its training centre, located within the Murtala Muhammed International airport in Lagos, Nigeria, in April 2021.

Developed in France, the AW139 simulator offers pilots an immersive experience with reproductions of operational missions, to train in complete safety for a variety situations including adverse weather conditions, helicopter failures and emergencies.

“We selected the Thales Reality H product because of its state-of-the-art features and the fact that we could modify key aspects to suit our operating environment in Africa,” says Aderemi Makanjuola, chairman of Caverton Offshore Support Group. “With this new training centre now operational, Caverton will provide state-of-the-art training, including initial type rating, recurrent training and proficiency checks, for offshore and onshore missions as well as military and special operations.”
