AMAC Aerospace, the Swiss VIP completions and maintenance specialist based in Basel, has signed a contract for a pre-purchase inspection on a Gulfstream G450. Furthermore, AMAC has been selected to carry out maintenance checks and refurbishment works on several Bombardier and Boeing aircraft. A new PPI contract has also been signed on a Gulfstream G450. The aircraft will be extensively examined for damage and wear that might not be evident at first sight to forecast any maintenance problems that could arise in the future. The extent of a PPI depends upon the complexity of the aircraft. The major components such as airframe, landing gear, cabin interior, engine systems, propeller fan blades and cylinders, will all be checked. The customer is a long-term Gulfstream operator and one of AMAC's early customers. The PPI on the Gulfstream G450 will be carried out in September at AMAC's headquarters.

Three Global 6000s, a Challenger 300 and a Boeing BBJ are all set to enter the workshop soon. The BBJ, which belongs to an Asian customer, will undergo a carpet change this month. For operational reasons, the aircraft will need to change the carpet within a short layover of only three and a half days. The firm has established a special team working in shifts to complete the removal of the previous flooring and installation of the new carpet in time.
