Government charter demand takes off for Travcon
Travcon is acquiring global business jets for a managed fleet to meet rising demand for international private charter from governments and wealthy families. Travcon is acquiring global business jets for a managed fleet to meet rising demand for international private charter from governments and wealthy families. "Our main activity is now providing for vvip and executive private charter demand," says md Philipp Zuercher. "We have become a specialist for government flights and the Middle East and Russia are among the high growth markets."

Travcon subsidiary Majestic Executive Aviation & Luxury Travel L.L.C. in Dubai will add a Challenger 604 to boost its Learjet 60 availability. "The fleet in Dubai could be further extended to meet demand," says Zuercher. "It is all about providing comfort. A Gulfstream V based in Zurich is enjoying heavy demand for long haul flights. It has a 16-seat interior and can be configured for up to four single and one double bed."

He adds: "Travcon has concluded exclusive agreements with several owners of large aircraft and has become a specialist for government flights. The demand for vvip

charter capacities has increased substantially. Travcon is also expanding its activities based on the leasing and purchasing aircraft including the MD-83, B-737 series, BBJs and the B-767 series for commercial as well as for VVIP use."

Travcon, he says, has hired technical specialist Helmut Wegner to advise customers during pre-purchase and operational phases.

Majestic's business, Zuercher adds, has grown rapidly since its launch in Dubai in April 2006 backed by UAE and European-based investors from the private aviation business sector. Business focuses include executive aircraft charter and management, consultancy and sales, with an FBO launch scheduled for next year in Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi.

Zuercher adds: "The facility will be ready in 2008/09 to coincide with the operational launch of the new world central airport being built there. Majestic will provide a comprehensive range of services and amenities, including hangarage, in a modern and luxurious setting."
