EAM location is good fit for larger aircraft
A move to Sky Harbor International brings greater hangarage and will allow Executive Aircraft Maintenance to manage the maintenance and avionics needs on a variety of new airframes as it shifts focus to larger aircraft.
EAM has completed a major inspection on a Legacy 600 for Swift Aircraft Management.

Arizona-based Executive Aircraft Maintenance (EAM) has re-located from Scottsdale airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International, giving it access to 40,000 sq ft of hangar space. The move will enable EAM to service larger aircraft, in addition to the smaller airframes it has maintained for decades, and expand its range of services.

“This transition has been seamless for our existing customers. It is exciting to offer more space and more capabilities from our team,” says VP operations Jorge Gonzalez. “We now have the ability to focus our resources on the avionics and maintenance needs of our customers while expanding into some new territory, including custom interiors.”

The company recently completed a 48 and 96-month inspection on an Embraer Legacy 600 managed by Swift Aircraft Management. In addition to the extensive inspection, it also installed ADS-B on the aircraft. The inspection and installation took over 2,000 hours and was completed on time and budget.

“It was crucial for us to keep the downtime of the aircraft to a minimum,” says president and CEO Jeff Coffman. “We were able to work closely with Swift to ensure the parts and squawk approval process ran smoothly and efficiently.”

The inspection, typically requiring four to seven weeks of downtime, included removing the interior, large exterior fairings, landing gear, flight controls, wing leading edges and flaps.

Swift vice president Kevin Burdette adds: “With our Legacy already in maintenance, we combined the ADS-B installation at the same time which made the entire process efficient and convenient."

A Class III FAA Part 145 repair station, EAM's current maintenance capabilities include Gulfstream, Beechcraft, Challenger, Legacy, King Air and Citation inspections and line maintenance, sheet metal repairs/modifications, and Raisbeck and Blackhawk modifications. Its current avionics capabilities include ADSB installations from major avionics manufacturers on aircraft up to midsize jets, internet and wi-fi installations, full cockpit retrofits with G1000/G5000, Collins Pro-Line Fusion, G500/600/GTN 750 avionics as well as autopilots and general troubleshooting and repair.

EAM is an authorised dealer for cockpit and cabin avionics equipment providers including Collins, Gogo, Garmin and Universal Avionics, and and its in-house engineering regularly collaborates with OEMs for new supplemental type certificates. Coffman adds: “Our goal is to reduce the complexity of owning and operating an aircraft by providing our customers with a single source for all of their aircraft needs.”

EAM's Legacy base maintenance services include 48, 96 and 144-month inspections, corrosion prevention, replacement of major components, complete ADS-B installation and complete interior refurbishment. “With our new business model and larger hangar, EAM is re-focused on maintaining larger airframes. We are excited for these opportunities to facilitate the Legacy community and put our skilled technicians to work on their airplanes,” concludes Gonzalez.
