MT-Propeller Entwicklung has received the TCCA Canada STC SA23-97 for the installation of the MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFR(L)250-103 Quiet Fan Jet composite propellers on the Piper PA-42-1000 Cheyenne 400LS powered by Honeywell TPE331-14A/B propeller turbines.
This installation is already supplemental type certified by FAA, EASA, ANAC Brazil and INAC Venezuela.
MT-Propeller president Gerd Muehlbauer says that the installation features the following advantages:
- Take off distance over 50 ft obstacle reduced by approximately five per cent (SL, ISA, MTOW)
- Enhanced climb by approximately three per cent (SL, ISA conditions, MTOW) increasing by altitude
- Enhanced cruising speeds by approximately 5 kts + (ISA, FL250, 11500 lbs GW)
- Approximately 52 lbs less total weight than the original propellers
The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
