GainJet Aviation of Athens has added a factory-new Gulfstream G650 to its long range fleet.

The aircraft, which left Gulfstream's facility in Savannah with 14 people onboard, completed its 5,008 nm ferry flight in eight hours 26 minutes, at a speed of Mach 0.90.

The G650 joins a G550, G450 and a number of vip Boeings to cement the company's presence in the heavy jet market. The G650 offers significant range of 7,000 nm or 14 hours, with a maximum cruise altitude of 51,000 ft and operating speed of Mach 0.925. It also features advanced technology including a computer-controlled, highly redundant fly-by-wire flight system ensuring greater safety and smoother flying.

President Ramsey Shaban states: “The Gulfstream G650 is truly the world's best business jet. The aircraft's capabilities are far beyond any other on the market in my opinion. The acquisition of such a high performance and versatile aircraft is a major advantage for GainJet, especially when considering who our customers are and where in the world they wish to go.

“The jet's advanced features, along with our service, will allow for a customised journey tailored to individual passenger needs.”

Shaban adds: “It has already proved popular as it has been booked for charters in the near future. We welcome it to our fleet with great excitement.”

GainJet's G650 has a spacious and wide cabin that can comfortably accommodate 16 passengers, with the option to convert the seats into flat beds: four singles and one double.

The aircraft replenishes oxygen every two minutes and, at a cruising altitude of 41,000ft, the cabin is pressurised at 3,000ft, reducing fatigue. The aircraft is available for charter and will be primarily based in Athens. Says Shaban: “Athens as a primary base for the aircraft is strategically located at a central point for our target markets in EMEA. We have no doubt that it will be popular across this target region.”
