Zenith adds capacity with LR75 pair

UK operator Zenith Aviation is due to take delivery of two factory-new Learjet 75s which will be available for charter. “We are delighted to be once again working with Bombardier and welcoming the Learjet 75 aircraft into our fleet,” says MD Stuart Mulholland.

“The Learjet brand is synonymous with our facility at London Biggin Hill. Having seen the first Learjet 45 aircraft arrive over 17 years ago, we are now very much looking forward to the arrival of the iconic LR75.”

Mulholland is reporting a hugely successful year for Zenith: not only are charter sales up 240 per cent but enhancing the company's Part 145 capability is also on the horizon. After a 'totally crazy' year of sales, the incoming jets will increase capacity and coverage.

“The Learjet 75 is just an extension of what we have been doing with the Learjet 45s, so it was an obvious choice for us, fitting very well into our model,” Mulholland continues. “We will principally be operating the aircraft to the same destinations as we have operated the 45s to, including the Mediterranean and other parts of Europe.

“Many of our customers really like the 45, so it's an ideal progression. The 75 is a fast aircraft, it is comfortable and, being brand new, our clients will have the latest in-flight facilities including wi-fi and satcom.”

Brokers are Zenith's primary customers, and being able to offer an aircraft that is weeks rather than years old will be advantageous. Malaga and Faro are expected to be popular destinations, as many customers have property and boats there.

Adds Mulholland: “Our current charter fleet consists of the two Learjet 45s and a Citation XLS. We do have other charter agreements too, including for an XLS+. We will be adding to the available fleet, and also starting to spread the operation around the UK a little bit more. We will most likely reposition the 45s so that we can service more than just the immediate London area.”
