The world's first seven-bladed MT-Propeller the Silent 7 MTV-37 is now supplemental type certified by EASA on the Shorts SC7 powered by two Honeywell TPE331 engines modified according to FAA STC SE383CH propeller turbines.
Vice president Martin Albrecht says that the installation of the brand new MTV-37 propeller on the turbine driven aircraft Shorts SC7 features the following advantages the best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation; it is bonded on nickel alloy leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades; a shorter take-off distance by approximately 5% in SL, ISA conditions; an enhanced climb performance by approximately 10% in SL, ISA conditions; unlimited blade life; FOD repairable blades; quicker engine start, reduced ITT/EGT during engine start; significant inside and outside noise reduction; and to comply with the strict 2010 German Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung noise regulations for unrestricted airport operation in Germany and other European countries.
MT has 30 propeller models from two-blade to seven-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5,000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers. Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements, they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
