German operator develops long-range fleet
Saarbruecken-based Cirrus Aviation has acquired two brand-new aircraft. The company states that its Embraer Legacy and Challenger 300 are the first aircraft of their type to be registered in Germany.

Saarbruecken-based Cirrus Aviation has acquired two brand-new aircraft. The company states that its Embraer Legacy and Challenger 300 are the first aircraft of their type to be registered in Germany.

"These fleet additions enhance the Cirrus Aviation fleet perfectly," commented director Stefan Buschle. "The roominess and cabin space of the Legacy are class leading, whilst the Challenger 300 closes the gap between the seven-seat Learjet 60 and the 10-seat Challenger 604 long range jet."

The 13-passenger Legacy 600 will fly 3,250nm, at speeds of up to Mach 0.80. Its certified operating ceiling is FL410 and it has been certified for steep approach operations, enabling it to operate at airports such as London City.

The company's Challenger 300 offers a non-stop range of 3,100nm, reaching speeds of up to Mach 0.82

at a cruising altitude of 45,000 feet. Both aircraft feature video, stereo and satellite telephone systems in

the cabin.

The new additions bring Cirrus' fleet tally to 14 jets. President and founder Gerd Brandecker states that the company is expecting to acquire an additional Global 5000, a second Challenger 300, as well as a third Learjet 40 within the next 12 months.
