Colorado-based operator Prime Jet has been selected by Part 380 indirect air carrier MemberJets to offer single seats to passengers on routes between New York City and south Florida. The seats will be available on its Gulfstream GIV-SP operating scheduled flights between Teterboro and Opa Locka airports.
Prime Jet COO Andrew Gulsrud says: “We're very excited to arm our current broker customers with another way to sell our aircraft. This is just the tip of the iceberg of possible options and MemberJets' platform facilitates new revenue for our great industry.”
MemberJets president Louis Jennings adds: “Prime Jet is dedicating its beautiful GIV-SP with an updated cabin and low-density seating to our effort. We're very excited to have an operator of Prime Jet's calibre representing us. Drawing on its immense customer service experience, it has brought more than just an airplane to the discussion.”
MemberJets has created a free marketplace to share flights by the seat, and works closely with operators and brokers. “The shared economy makes logical sense for a fragmented industry that has always been exclusively for the elite,” states MemberJets founder and CEO Ty Carter. “The MemberJets Marketplace allows industry players to work together, leveraging the advantages of private aviation while creating new flight options and prices, thus opening aviation to an entirely new demographic.
“Our philosophy is to support an existing industry and to provide the tools to enter into the next era of private travel, and that's why we make our software free to our partners. We distinguish ourselves by providing a platform that empowers our partners to market and sell seats or new flight options to their clients directly, resulting in an entirely new ecosystem and customer base.”
The public can purchase available seats or create flights immediately in the marketplace via Apollo Jets, Charter Jet Airlines, The Early Airway, Elevate Aviation Solutions, Encore Jets, Magellan Jets or Straightline Private Air. All flights are performed by FAA-licensed and DOT-registered companies.
