U.K.Sovereign Business Jets has signed up two of its CitationJets for Active Winglet installations by Tamarack Aerospace. The installations are taking place at Tamarack's new European installation centre based at London Oxford airport in the UK, where a third CitationJet is also due to undergo a winglet installation, for a separate operator. The first aircraft for Sovereign, a CJ2, has now been delivered.
“We are excited to undertake the first European installation of Tamarack's Active Winglets on our recently purchased CJ2. With JMI's (Oxford Jet Maintenance International) expertise, the installation has gone smoothly,” comments Garry Chalmers, MD of Sovereign Business Jets. “The performance benefits and stylish looks of the winglets made this an easy decision for us. We now have a second aircraft, a CJ1, lined up for installation.”
These installations signal another phase of growth for Tamarack after it recently increased the number of its service centres in the US and expanded its headquarters facilities in Sandpoint, Idaho.
“From the early days, I've had the dream of offering our high quality, customer-centric service to our growing fleet,” says Tamarack founder and CEO Nick Guida. “Seeing this first installation come together at the new Tamarack European installation centre is fulfilment of that dream in part. We're seeing more demand as word spreads about how the Active Winglet modification saves up to 33 per cent of fuel usage, cuts down on noise pollution with shorter runways needed for takeoffs and landings, and provides safer and smooth flight.”
A seven-to-10 day installation is a precedented norm for Tamarack business. Many customers, like SBJ, often opt for other services and upgrades which extend the timeframe of the modification. “We are glad to see that the Oxford facility is working in collaboration with existing Tamarack authorised dealers in Europe. In the process of strengthening our business, we are now able to offer the same high level of service to our European customers that those in the US experience,” notes Tamarack COO Danny Hiner.
Tamarack's European installation centre operates independently out of the Oxford Jet Maintenance International facility.
