Winch Design delivers interior refit of Global 500
When a client wanted to transform a dated Global 500 cabin they tasked Winch with creating a bright and characterful space. The starting point was a painting by a Japanese artist, applied directly to the bulkhead.
The 10 year old jet now shows off bold colours and abstract detail.

UK-based studio Winch Design has delivered a complete end-to-end Bombardier Global 5000 refurbishment, giving a 10 year old standard business jet a unique individual interior statement. The brief from the client was to take the dated original aircraft cabin and create a bright and characterful space.

The large art feature wall on the aft bulkhead was the starting point of the concept and is the standout element of the expressive new interior. The piece was commissioned as an original artwork painted directly onto the aircraft bulkhead. The bold colours and abstract detail provide an arresting focus to the aft owner's lounge upon entering the cabin. The installation was challenging, with the artist applying the artwork using fully-certified materials.

Drawing individual colours from the art piece, the interior then combines a mix of subtle geometry in the custom tufted carpet and embossed stitched leather bulkheads. In addition, the seats are completely re-styled using high quality leathers to introduce a distinctly fresh and lighter feel to the cabin.

The aircraft was completed with the interior installation and maintenance carried out by Bombardier, and all interior cabin refurbishment by AeroVisto.

Yachts & Aviation managing partner and creative director Jim Dixon says: “The Winch Design team thoroughly enjoyed the fast turnaround of this bespoke interior refit. The art installation on the aft bulkhead presented several technical challenges, but the finished result creates a great impression.”
