Sao Paulo-based operator Air Jet Taxi Aereo has taken delivery of two H145 helicopters from Helibras. They are the first equipped with five blades to be used for passenger transport and also for aeromedical transport in Brazil. As well as recognised operational efficiency and safety, which make the helicopter a commercial success all over the world, the penta-blade version offers an additional 150kg of payload. The new main rotor design has no bearings, which in addition to facilitating maintenance, ensures greater in-flight comfort, an essential feature for this market.
“Aircraft are fundamental investments, particularly in aeromedical transport, in which safety and quality are fundamental for a good service delivery,” says Air Jet CEO Fernando Parrillo. “This is equipment that will directly contribute to the well-being of our patients.”
Air Jet Taxi Aereo has state-of-the-art equipment and a medical team specialised in aeromedical transport, trained in all essential aircraft procedures covering any eventuality. The company's fleet includes two Airbus H125s and one Airbus H135, that are adaptable for inter-hospital transport of short, medium and long duration. The two H145s are equipped with modern resources that will add more capacity and technology to air medical transport in the country.
Helibras head of sales, marketing and business development Lionel De-Maupeou says: “This is an activity that saves lives and needs to be increasingly developed in Brazil, given the size of its territory and population. We appreciate Air Jet's trust in our products, which today represent more than half of the air medical helicopter fleet in operation in the world."
