TAM Aviacao Executiva, owner of the largest maintenance park for executive aircraft in Latin America, is entering into a partnership agreement with Pratt & Whitney. As a Designated Maintenance Facility (DMF) and part of Pratt & Whitney Canada's global service network, TAM will increase the availability and accessibility of various maintenance services and solutions for customers operating a wide range of P&WC engines in Brazil.

TAM will provide line maintenance services, up to the HSI level, and mobile repair crew for business aviation turbofans: JT15D-5A, JT15D-5D, PW306C, PW306D, PW306D1, PW535A, PW535B, PW545A, PW545B, PW545C, PW615F-A; and general aviation turboprops: PT6A-114/A, PT6A-135A, PT6A-140, PT6A-140A, PT6A-21, PT6A-28, PT6A-41, PT6A-42, PT6A-52, PT6A-60A, PT6A-61.

The DMF agreement with TAM AE covers approximately 1,900 engines currently operating in Brazil. This number represents more than half of the total fleet of 3,400 P&W engines in the country.

Pratt & Whitney engines are serviced at the TAM AE service centre in Jundiaí, São Paulo. The site has an area of more than 20,000 sqm, the largest for executive aircraft in Latin America, with workshops certified by the FAA, DGAC, DNAC and ANAC. TAM AE also has service facilities in Belo Horizonte and Goiânia.

The company, a Garmin representative in Brazil since 2004, has also received a worldwide award for its sales performance, commitment and service provision for Garmin International avionics systems.

The partnership with Garmin enables highly complex modifications in executive aircraft. TAM AE operates the only authorised Citation service centre in Brazil, thus being the only company authorised to perform the Garmin G5000 panel retrofit on Citation XL and XLS types and to perform the upgrade to the Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck on Citation Mustangs.
