Cirrus Aircraft, in partnership with Garmin, has had its Vision Jet Safe Return emergency autoland system granted type certification by EASA. Safe Return emergency autoland is a revolutionary system, enabled by Garmin's Collier autoland technology, that allows passengers to autonomously land the Vision Jet with the touch of a single button. The certification follows continued growth of the Vision Jet, including being recognised as the world's best-selling jet in general aviation for two years in a row and delivery of more than 245 Vision Jets worldwide.

“With Safe Return, we are making personal aviation more accessible, elevating the passenger experience and taking the next step towards autonomous flight,” says Cirrus CEO Zean Nielsen. “The Vision Jet sets a new standard in personal travel with the combination of Safe Return and CAPS, offering the ultimate level of safety, control and comfort for the pilot and passengers across the globe.”

Safe Return emergency autoland was previously certified by the FAA in August 2020. It joins the Collier-winning Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) on the Vision Jet to provide the most comprehensive, must-have total safety solution in general aviation.

Cirrus has also announced several additions to its suite of owners' services dedicated to enhancing the aircraft ownership experience. The new FLEX Cargo Management System for the Vision Jet has been launched. Supporting owners service and support needs, Cirrus has also added a mobile service team for maintenance and AOG services and additional FAA repair station authorisations in Duluth, Minnesota; Knoxville, Tennessee and McKinney, Texas.

“As Cirrus Aircraft and our family of owners around the world continues to grow, we recognise the importance of extending our relentless pursuit of innovation into the overall ownership experience,” says Nielsen. “Our team is continuing to revolutionise personal aviation by delivering world-class innovation, connectivity and services to make owning a Cirrus Aircraft rewarding, safe and simple for a lifetime of ownership.”

These new offerings will add value and versatility for the more than 265 owners of the Vision Jet, which continues to be the best-selling jet in general aviation.
