Swissquote founding partner and board member Paolo Buzzi has taken delivery of the first Switzerland-registered TBM 960.
Buzzi is a passionate and experienced pilot with 2,200 flight hours, including 1,200 hours logged in the TBM 930 he previously owned and in which he explored the world.
This delivery increases the number of TBMs based in Switzerland to 12, an impressive number for a country with only 8.7 million inhabitants. The transaction was conducted through Daher’s TBM area sales representative in Switzerland, Zurich-based SwissFly Aero.
“We thank Paolo Buzzi for his loyalty to the TBM and we wish him all the best for the long duration trips he is planning with his brand-new TBM 960,” says Daher aircraft division senior vice president Nicolas Chabbert. “His choice underscores how the TBM is perfectly tailored to the general aviation market in Switzerland, offering fast and direct transportation to most European capitals and enabling operations from smaller airports.”
In 2018, Buzzi was joined by his wife Anna on a round-the-world trip in the TBM 930 organised by Air Journey, covering 25,824 nm in 108 hours. “At the end of our circumnavigation, it just looked like the world was smaller,” says Buzzi.
His decision to buy the TBM 960 was influenced by Daher’s five-year warranty and the aircraft’s HomeSafe emergency autoland system, a standard feature that was of particular interest to his wife.
After completing complementary transition training on the new aircraft, Buzzi plans a new flight expedition to New Zealand.
