Turkey's Arkasair is acquiring a Challenger 300 in 2008 as it plans ahead to meet growing demand for vip charter services from Izmir. It already operates a Challenger 604 and a Learjet 60 from its base at Adnan Menderes airport.

A company spokeswoman says: "Arkasair has made it a high priority to maintain a fully updated fleet. In addition to its fast and reliable Learjet 60, the company has added a widebody Challenger 604, which has been customised to seat ten instead of 19, ensuring maximum passenger comfort and space. In 2008 the fleet will be enlarged with the mid-range Challenger 300. Arkasair will continue to provide the luxurious and efficient travel services that today's business community demands."

Founded in 1998, she says Arkasair is the first air taxi company in Turkey to receive the ISO 9001 certificate.

Arkasair has 1,535 sq. m of hangar space for its two aircraft. It is one of 37 companies owned by Arkas Holding which offers clients a combination of sea, land, rail and air transport including business aviation.

Lucien Arkas, chairman of Arkas Holding, says: "At Arkasair, our vision is to continue growing as an
