AlabamaSouthern Sky Aviation has added a King Air 200 to its Part 135 charter certificate. The King Air seats seven passengers and offers a range of 1,048 nm and received a full interior refurbishment as well as a newly painted exterior in 2016.
This addition to Southern Sky's fleet will be based in Birmingham, Alabama, where the company is headquartered and also where it operates one of its three charter operations. Existing ops are conducted from its home base at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International, Atlanta's Peachtree-DeKalb and Scottsdale.
“I think it's safe to say that in 2020 private charter is more important than ever to our customers,” declares Southern Sky Aviation CEO Bo Andrews. “We are here to meet our customers' needs and exceed expectations in all aspects of our business. Adding this King Air to our fleet allows us to not only keep up with the increased demand for our charter operations but also expand our fleet with one of the most reliable and sought-after aircraft out there.”
Company president Donald Howell adds: “We've seen a very strong resurgence in private charter since coming out of the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. Our clients need to travel, and they need to do so safely and efficiently. It's a great feeling to be able to provide peace of mind and a safe environment in which people can travel and continue operating their businesses.”
