CAT extends StandardAero support for King Air 350s
Commuter Air Technology is a King Air 350 specialist and works regularly with StandardAero. It is also a provider of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services in support of US Special Operations Forces.

Bethany, Oklahoma-based Commuter Air Technology (CAT) has selected StandardAero to provide support services for Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-60A engines installed on its King Air 350 aircraft. Under the multi-year agreement, StandardAero will provide CAT with PT6A-60A MRO services from its Designated Overhaul Facility with distribution rights in Summerside, PEI, Canada, delivering improved turn times and reduced operating costs to CAT and its customers.

CAT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Meta Special Aerospace, and is a well-established King Air operator, having developed over 50 STCs and multiple other special mission modifications for the platform. CAT's operations division is also a provider of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) services for overseas missions in support of US Special Operations Forces.

CAT director of maintenance Nic Hawker says: “StandardAero (formerly Vector Aerospace) has been a strategic partner with us since 2007, providing PT6A engine maintenance services for our entire fleet. Together we have amassed more than 155,000 hours of engine operations on three continents.

StandardAero has consistently supplied CAT with the highest quality of engine overhauls, hot section inspections, repairs, fuel nozzles, engine inspections and other components. It has done this while meeting tight timelines, working in austere conditions and keeping up with our fast moving, ever expanding fleet and high-tempo operations. We are proud to move into the next chapter of this strategic partnership with StandardAero by entering into this multi-year, exclusive agreement with the largest CAT fleet expansion to date. We look forward to working with our StandardAero teammates over the next 155,000 hours, and the many more to follow.”

StandardAero VP of sales and marketing Jason Johnson adds: “We are delighted to have been awarded the opportunity to support Commuter Air Technology with aggressive economical solutions for its growing PT6A needs. “Given the mission-critical services provided by CAT's operations division to US warfighters around the globe, we value the trust shown in us to deliver responsive, high-quality PT6A support in support of its King Air operations.”

StandardAero supports the global PT6A operator community from four Designated Overhaul Facilities located in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, backed up by a global network of seven service centres and over twenty dedicated mobile repair technicians.
