FAI adds Global Express number five
The Global Express is a familiar machine for FAI rent-a-jet, and the company is delighted that its MRO subsidiary FAI Technik will be called upon once more for a full refurb ahead of entry into service.
FAI chairman Siegfried Axtmann is hoping that this year will be as fruitful as 2017.

German operator FAI rent-a-jet has expanded its fleet of managed aircraft by adding a fifth Global Express. This brings its total fleet to 25, including 10 aircraft under management.

In addition to the five Global Express, FAI currently operates five Challenger 604s, 12 Learjet 60s, one Learjet 55, one Premier 1A and a King Air 350.

The latest jet will be German registered and operated on behalf of a corporate client. Soon to be based at FAI's headquarters in Nuremberg, it is undergoing a full cabin refurbishment and exterior paint refresh by the company's MRO subsidiary FAI Technik. It will be the third Global Express full cabin refurbishment that the facility has taken on in the last six months, and the project is expected to be completed by mid-November, at which time the aircraft will enter service.

Chairman Siegfried Axtmann comments: "We are very pleased to welcome a fifth Global Express to our managed fleet. Through our management contracts we provide value for aircraft owners and offer charter clients a diverse fleet to choose from. FAI Technik is also delighted to take on another full cabin Global refurbishment. We are seeing growing demand in our MRO business."

FAI has clocked up more than 200,000 air ambulance hours since its formation in 1987 and 13,000 total hours in the air in 2017. It was also recently awarded the Diamond Safety of Flight Award from the EBAA, signifying 50 years or 100,000 hours without incident.
