Karen relies on Horix to dismantle two A109s
In its third dismantling project with Horix, the latest consignment agreement means Karen can remain focused on helicopter operations and maintenance while its partner manages the spare parts inventory chain.
Karen has signed another dismantling agreement with Horix under its consignment programme.

Switzerland-based helicopter MRO Karen has signed another consignment agreement with parts management solutions provider Horix Aerospace, under its Horix Trust consignment programme.

The scope of work covers all material recovered from the dismantling of two AW109s; an aged A109AII and an AW109S Grand.

"This will be our third project managed in partnership with Horix," says director of operations Luca Carlino. "It allows us to remain focused on helicopter operations and maintenance. With operating bases in Switzerland and a number African locations, we need a strong partner to manage the spare parts inventory chain, and this agreement is further confirmation of our satisfaction with the process efficiency."

Horix chief commercial officer Marco Taufer adds: "We are pleased to be a partner in Karen’s growth, and we are delighted to expand our helicopter used serviceable materials inventory through our Trust consignment programme. This is a strong consignment agreements year for Horix, where the number of signed Trust consignment agreements continues to grow."

Horix is considering future helicopters, both the AW109 and AW139 types, for use as used serviceable materials supply sources, and continues to acquire parts through multiple avenues including consignments and direct stock purchases.
