Transportes Aereos Pegaso has become the first operator in Mexico of the five-blade Airbus H145. This helicopter is the first of four to be delivered to the company, strengthening air transport services for the energy industry and focused on oil and gas prospecting activities in the Gulf of Mexico.

“After having operated the H145 with great success and performance in Mexico, we considered that the five-bladed H145 was the next step to continue raising standards in air transport service in Mexico,” says Pegaso general director Enrique Zepeda Navarro. “With this new member of the family we hope to strengthen our transportation services for customers in the Gulf of Mexico.”

Airbus Helicopters Mexico general director Ricardo Capilla adds: “We are proud that Pegaso has become the first operator of the five-blade H145 in Mexico. We are convinced that it is the perfect aircraft for Pegaso’s needs and that it fits perfectly in the Mexican market due to its great power and versatility to fulfil a wide range of missions.”

The five-blade H145 is the latest member of the company’s four-tonne twin engine helicopter range, with mission capability and flexibility specially designed for hot, high altitude operating conditions such as those found in Mexico. This upgrade adds an innovative five-blade rotor to the multi-mission H145, increasing its payload by 150 kg. The simplicity of the design also eases maintenance operations, further enhancing the H145’s baseline serviceability and reliability, while improving ride comfort for passengers and crew.

Pegaso operates a fleet of 23 Airbus Helicopters, incorporating almost the entire Airbus range of the H130, H135, H145, H155 and H175 families. In 2016, the Mexican operator was the launch customer of the H175 in Latin America, as well as the first operator in Mexico of the H145 in 2020.
