MT-Propeller Entwicklung has received EASA STC 10079705 for the four-blade natural composite MTV-14-D-C-F/CF188-30g propeller on the Cessna 414 RAM IV, VI and VII series powered by TCM TSIO-520-J,-JB,-N,-NB engines plus engines modified by RAM. This EASA STC replaces the German LBA STC SA1318.
The FAA STC update is in progress.
MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says, that the installation has advantages: It is bonded on stainless steel or nickel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades; shortens take off distance by approximately three per cent (SL, ISA conditions); enhances climb by approximately five to eight per cent (SL, ISA conditions); increases cruise performance by approximately three to five kts (MTOW, ISA conditions); and accounts for approximately 20 lbs less weight than the original propellers.
The MT-Propeller modification also includes Cessna 414s modified with RAM III and IV FAA STC SA4379SW; RAM VI FAA STC SA8424S-D and RAM VII FAA STC SA09469SC-D.
The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.
