Subaru awarded Japan-based Bell 412EPX contracts
Two Subaru Bell 412EXPs are on their way to Japan over the next couple of years. They will be used for disaster information gathering and for maritime missions.
The Subaru Bell 412EPX has an extended hover ceiling and increased useful load.

The Chubu Regional Development Bureau, MILT and the Japan Coast Guard have each ordered one Bell 412EPX from Subaru Corp. The helicopters are scheduled to be delivered in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

The Chubu helicopter will be used for information gathering in the event of disasters such as storms, floods and earthquakes, TEC-Force (Technical Emergency Control Force) activities and various surveys at normal times. The Coast Guard will used theirs for ensuring security at sea, search and rescue, responding to maritime disasters and the transportation of many loads.

The Subaru Bell 412EPX has commonalities with the Bell 412EP, which both buyers currently possess. Therefore, the sales will enable smooth introduction and transition by utilising the existing resources. In addition to that, the Subaru Bell 412EPX provides better operational capability and efficiency with improved performance such as extended hover ceiling and increased useful load.

Subaru is committed to supporting safe and reliable helicopters operation with not only continued helicopter production and sales activities, but also parts supply and maintenance.

The Subaru Bell 412EPX is the latest upgrade of the Bell 412 series jointly developed by Subaru and Bell.
