Uni-Fly purchases AW169s for wind farm support
Danish operator Uni-Fly has signed a contract with Leonardo to acquire two AW169 light intermediate twin engine helicopters.

Danish operator Uni-Fly has signed a contract with Leonardo to acquire two AW169 light intermediate twin engine helicopters. The aircraft will enter service in the first quarter of 2018 and will perform wind farm support operations for DONG Energy at Hornsea Project One, located in the North Sea 120 km from Humberside, UK.

The order is the first contract for the AW169 model in Denmark and the Uni-Fly machines will be the first AW169s to support wind farms in the UK. The helicopters will be configured with a dedicated offshore interior and a rescue hoist to serve maintenance personnel working on wind turbines.

In Europe the AW169 has already been deployed for HEMS, corporate transportation, harbour pilot shuttles and law enforcement.
