MT-Propeller has received EASA STC for the MTV-27 Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller on the ASI Aviation F406, powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-112 propeller turbines.
MT-Propeller VP Martin Albrecht says that the MTV-27 propeller for the F406 has great advantages: a smaller diameter of up to 16 cm (six inches) compared to the original propeller, meaning greater ground clearance of about eight centimetres (three inches) for less FOD and also more clearance to the fuselage and therefore less cabin noise from the prop tips; it improves take-off performance by up to eight per cent compared to the original AFM and therefore a higher level of safety for the calculated take-off run; there are no propeller ADs; the MTV-27 has a TBO of 4,500 hours or six years, whichever comes first, for low maintenance costs; there are no RPM restrictions for the complete operational range; the MTV-27 propellers have no life limitation and are repairable in case of a FOD; and the installation complies with the strict German 2010 Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung noise regulations for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries
The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
