Versatile AW139 chosen by African governments

Four undisclosed government customers in west Africa have selected AW139 helicopters for passenger transportation. These four aircraft bring the total number of the type in Africa to 60.

AgustaWestland is expanding its presence in the region and will shortly be opening a new authorised service centre in Africa.

The AW139 is an intermediate twin-turbine helicopter and, to date, orders for almost 840 units have been placed by more than 220 customers from close to 70 countries. It can carry out a wide range of missions including offshore transport, law enforcement and homeland security duties, EMS and SAR, utility, firefighting, and executive and private transport.
