Wichita, Kansas-based aviation lighting specialist PWI has released an ice light window. It is designed for almost a dozen King Air aircraft and improves ice detection as well as enhancing the range of view around the aircraft.

“We know that the ice light window of a King Air can be prone to damage from the existing bulbs,” says president and CEO Robi Lorik. “PWI’s new ice light window is a quick and easy replacement for damaged windows, and pairing it with PWI’s LED ice light gives the ice light window a much longer life.”

The ice light window is constructed of durable, lightweight, plexiglass material. Combined with PWI’s LED ice light, the ice light window will save aircraft down time as well as being less expensive over the life of the aircraft.

“This ice light window ensures you are seen by others while improving your range of view around the aircraft,” adds Lorik. “Warped ice light windows can sometimes be a hazard for a pilot and even other aircraft.”

The PWI ice light window is part number 4000041-000 and is a direct replacement for existing Textron ice light window part number 101-360190-0001. PMA is pending.

PWI is the OEM for most King Air interior lighting and was the designated OEM of fluorescent lighting for business jets.
