ArizonaHaughey Air's new Sikorsky S76++ is being put into service after the solving of problems in completing its conversion with the latest in sophisticated instrumentation.
The managed aircraft, which replaces an S-76, is being chartered when not in use by its owner. The owner uses the S76++ for business flights around the U.K. and Ireland.
Haughey Air had scheduled delivery of the S76++ for the last quarter of 2006 but encountered problems in having the interior built to specifications. The specifications included leather seats, a drinks unit and two flat screen TVs for moving map information from the Airshow 400 system and DVDs.
"It is a superb machine," says chief pilot Andy Beattie. "The cabin features the latest silencer interior from Sikorsky and will also benefit from the new quiet gearbox technology.
"The cockpit enjoys TCAS, EGPWS (enhanced proximity warning system), and moving map display in the shape of the Honeywell MX20 and the Universal UNS 1F navigation system. With this added to the standard fit of IIDs it will be great to charter as well as to fly."
Lynton Aviation Aircraft Sales recently announced a contract to deliver a new S76C++ 'Deluxe Executive' helicopter to Trustair in the U.K. That S76C++ contract was the third to be signed for a customer within the U.K.
