MT-Propeller has received FAA STC for the MTV-27 Quiet Fan Jet composite five-blade propeller on the Cessna 441 powered by two Honeywell TPE-331-8 propeller turbines or TPE-331s installed per approved STCs that do not exceed 635.5 SHP and 2000 rpm. The installation is already certified by EASA STC.
MT-Propeller VP Martin Albrecht says: "The prop is bonded on wide chord nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades; it has a smaller diameter of up to four inches compared to the original propeller, which means greater ground clearance of about two inches for less FOD and also more clearance to the fuselage and therefore less cabin noise from the prop tips; takeoff improvements of up to 15 per cent are possible, compared to the original AFM and therefore a higher level of safety for the calculated take-off run; no propeller ADs; TBO of 4,500 hours or six years, whichever comes first, for low maintenance costs; no intermediate inspections are needed between the TBO, which requires the propeller removal; reduced cost for spare parts, like blades and lower overhaul costs, for the complete propeller assembly; no RPM restrictions for the complete operational range.
