An entrol AW109 FNPT II MCC simulator purchased by Nigeria-based aviation training and consultancy company Global Aviation Training and Maintenance will be installed, operated and maintained by Caverton Aviation Training Center (CATC), which already operates an EASA certified Level D AW139 full flight simulator from its facility in Lagos.

The simulator is equipped with a spherical visual system, four-axis electromagnetic vibration system and entrol mission package, which includes hoist control for SAR missions and an external mirror.

“We are excited to introduce this entrol AW109 FNPT II to our growing number of training devices in Nigeria and west Africa as a whole. The advent of Covid opened our eyes to the fact that there is a huge void in training establishments, and particularly access to training simulators. The need for affordable and accessible training is long overdue in west Africa, and we are delighted to work with entrol in making this a reality,” says CATC accountable manager Lolade Abiola. “The stress and bureaucracy of getting visas, booking hotels and the increasing cost of flight tickets can now easily be avoided, saving operators time and reducing capital flight.”

This AW109 simulator will be fourth entrol simulator installed in Africa and the first one in Nigeria, increasing its presence in the continent.
