Duty Operations Controller

Recruiting Operations Controllers for our newly established Farnborough-based office.

Role Description

If you're driven by precision, passionate about delivering the best service to our customers, then your next adventure awaits! We are seeking an Operations Controller for a full-time on-site role located in Farnborough.

The Operations Controller will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to analysing and managing financial information, as well as monitoring and managing operations. The Operations Controller will work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Day-to-Day Duties

The efficient processing and planning of aircraft operations in accordance with statutory requirements and Company policy as defined in the OM suite.

Planning flight routes, taking into consideration weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and fuel requirements.

Preparation and monitoring the validity of operations with regards to:

Crew flight briefs

Operational Flight plans, including airfield performance and airfield categorisation

Flight Time Limitations (FTL) schemes

Request slots/handling and permits as instructed by the Ground Operations Manager or the SOP.

Work closely with sales to coordinate all aspects of a flight. This involves ensuring that all necessary resources are in place and that any potential issues or delays are addressed promptly.

Stay informed about aviation regulations and ensure that all flights comply with local and international aviation laws. This includes obtaining necessary permits and documentation for international flights.

Communicate with pilots, air traffic control, ground services, and other relevant parties to relay important information and coordinate activities.

In the event of unexpected issues or emergencies, initiating and coordinating appropriate emergency responses. Such as launching an ERP, rerouting flights, addressing maintenance or crew issues.

Maintain accurate records of flight plans, communication logs, and other relevant documentation.

Monitor the progress of flights in real-time, ensuring that they are on schedule and that any deviations or issues are promptly addressed.

Utilising the manuals and publications within the Company’s operations library, including but not limited to:

UK Air Pilot

NOTAMS

AIC (Aeronautical Information Circulars)

ANO (Air Navigation Orders) and Regulations

Company Operations Manuals

Aeronautical Charts

2-REG General Aviation Regulations (GARs)

Assisting the Ground Operations Manager with aircrew scheduling in conjunction with relevant Fleet Captains.

Assisting the Managerial team with activating Operational Procedures, for example, Emergency Response Plans, Flight Watch and Overdue Aircraft Programmes where applicable. These procedures form part of the Company’s Safety and Quality Management Manual

The Candidate

Knowledge of business aviation sector, and an operations environment.

Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with teams and stakeholders.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.

Ability and willingness to work early & late shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime (as required).

Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 is beneficial, but not essential

Experience working in a similar role within the aviation industry is required.

The ideal candidate must be in commutable distance from Farnborough Airport.
